Banks

HSBC

45 Milsom St, Banes, Bath BA1 1DU, UK – 0345 740 4404

Not the most ideal location, but it's a bank. Can't really say much more than that

Helpful staff.

Lloyds Bank

Oldfield Park Bath, 23 Moorland Rd, Bath BA2 3PW, UK – 0345 300 0000

Thank you. I was looking for the full postal address and that's what you gave. Pity there was no Bank Managers name though.

NatWest

15 High St, Bath BA1 5AH, UK – 0345 788 8444

Helpful friendly staff.

It's a good bank in a good location

Building Societies

Bath Investment & Building Society

Nationwide

21 Old Bond St, Bath BA1 2LA, UK – 0800 554 0403

Reasonably good bank, not the best location but don't let that get you

The Coventry

2A Wood St, Bath BA1 2JQ, UK – 01225 427764

Local Chambers of Commerce for BA1 2BA. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Guildhall

High St, Bath, City Centre, Bath BA1 5AW, UK – 01225 394041

This place has been here for as the City itself. There are number of coffee shops and eateries. A delicatessen, hardware store, second hand bookshop and an hairdressers amongst others. Great atmosphere, highly recommend a visit!

The rooms are beautiful, as you'd expect from an old government building in Bath.

Bath MOT

Fleet Services Depot, Locksbrook Rd, Bath BA1 3EL, UK – 01225 477314

These lot are life savers! Extremely friendly and go out of there way to help you. Mot car in no time. I returned for a retest. They are fab! Highly recommend!

OK, an MOT is an MOT but why not be choosey who does it for you? Just had mine done at the Council MOT station Locksbrook Road. I rate it very highly because; its easy to get to, staff are friendly, complimentary tea/coffee, no up-selling of additional services, fast and efficient, they do it while you wait at the appointed time, ( so in and out in 1 hr. They offer a free reminder service for next year (DVLA charge $1.50 for this service), a loyalty discount for next year, and of course the profits that would have lined the garage owners pockets are put back into Council services reducing my Council Tax bill. And more importantly for me, they have no incentive to fail the car to get extra work as has been my experience in the past with MOT stations linked to garage services. Why go elsewhere?

Registration of Births Deaths & Marriages

Guildhall, High St, Bath BA1 5AW, UK – 01225 477234

We were married at Kingston Registry Office in February and then went on to have our Reception in the Guildhall - the Queen Anne Suite. We cannot praise everyone at the Guildhall enough from the Register Office Team through to Monika and her staff who looked after us so well both before during and after our lovely wedding day. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was accomplished with the minimum of fuss, lots of laughter yet a very professional approach.. We wanted an informal relaxed celebration with close family and a few friends and it was perfect. Everything that could be done was done to make our day exactly as we had planned and hoped for. Our guests all commented on what a beautiful wedding it was. Thank you to everyone concerned Cyd and Richard Slade 03/03/2017

Dental Surgeries

Bath Spa Dentistry

19 James St W, Bath BA1 2BT, UK – 01225 464346

This is a Super practice. Very Friendly team and lovely environment. Dentists and hygienists are superb and I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone. Staff are very knowledgeable and always go above and beyond!

My visits to Bath Spa Dentistry are always something to look forward to. This is because it begins as I enter, with a friendly reception - which puts me in a relaxed frame of mind, before any work begins. Jason - who handles my somewhat unusual one off brace fitting ;is with his assistant both efficient and calm during procedures. He also makes time for a brief chat or joke - making the time spent in the chair fly by. To sum it all up, I would say that what appeals to me, is that I trust the high quality professional skill sets that the staff offer, and at the same time admire their people friendly methods used. Keep up the fine work, David Snowdon

Ladies that were working in reception did all the best they could to find us a dentist just because they had none available at that time. We really appreciate Your work and Your help that You gaved to us. THANK YOU

First class service from Bath Dental Excellence. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, they are truly fantastic. I have been to other dentists in the past but the service I recevied here is second to none, thank you to the friendly welcoming staff.

Oldfield Surgery

45 Upper Oldfield Park, Bath BA2 3HT, UK – 01225 421137

The doctors are very helpful and informative. They definitely don't mess around. I hate it when you go to the doctors and they don't give you anything to relieve your symptoms but the doctors here are great. Its also good that they have a pharmacy and dentist upstairs also. If you're a student in Bath I would highly recommend here!

Widcombe Surgery

Widcombe Surgery, 3-4 Widcombe Hill, Bath BA2 4JT, UK – 01225 310883

GP’s & Staff Widcombe Surgery 3-4 Widcombe Parade Widcombe Bath BA2 4JT Our ref: SES//68416 25th July 2016 To the GP’s & Staff at Widcombe Surgery, I am writing to congratulate everyone at your surgery on the fantastic patient care that you provide to the people of Bath. The recent national survey results are a testament to this. In the Bath and North East Somerset area, on average, 94% of patients feel the service they receive from their local surgery is "good" which is well above the national average of 85%. It is by virtue of the hard-work of surgeries, like your own, that Bath boasts among the best customer survey results in the country. Everyone in Bath is very grateful for the care that Widcombe Surgery provides and it brings great reassurance to know that we benefit from some of the best surgery staff in the country. Everyone at Widcombe Surgery should be very proud of the results achieved, which rank your surgery, not only amongst the best in the area, but across the country too. It is particularly impressive that 84% feel that their GP listens to them at your surgery which is a staple of the service that you provide. I am sure that you will continue to provide unparalleled levels of customer care. Please do pass on my congratulations to the rest of the staff and please do not hesitate to get in touch if I can ever be of any assistance. Best wishes, Ben Howlett Member of Parliament for Bath

An excellent Surgery with a great team of friendly and helpful Doctors and other medical staff and workers. After having been with this Surgery for more than 10 years I have never had a reason to complain about the service I have received. Truly a medical team I trust! and to top it off it has a Chemist shop attached allowing for great communication between the Doctors and Chemist when required.

Royal United Hospital

Combe Park, Bath, Avon BA1 3NG, UK – 01225 428331

Every time my wife or I have needed them we have had excellent care. They have a constrained site and a big development programme which is bound to cause difficulties. There is a very good park and ride system if you object to the parking charges.

I know people gripe about the NHS but I have only had positive experiences here.

Royal National Hospital For Rheumatic Diseases

Upper Borough Walls, Bath BA1 1RL, UK – 01225 465941

A fantastic service, I am always treated with respect, I am given options in my own care and my opinion matters to them. I am very very lucky to be cared for by this amazing team, I'm not so lucky as for the reason why I am here in the first place but that is irrelevant. Wonderfully kind team, including receptionists. Knowledgable respectful and approachable medical professionals. I can't rate them highly enough, they have changed my life for the better.

From my first experience of being greeted with a warm handshake, introduction and smile by the consultant who had agreed to see me started off my fantastic experience of this hospital. This continued during the consultation where the doctor genuine listening to me, and making the time to perform a thorough and comprehensive examination and history taking made me feel greatly at ease. My care was firmly at the centre of all the staff's ethos, that I had the pleasure to encounter. This attitude to care meant that I was included in ever step; from gaining a diagnosis, through to options about what treatments were available and being offered a place on a fantastic course that were led by a fantastic team who tailored the course to individuality of myself allowing me to step away with hope and empowerment at the end of the course that I'd have the right tools to start to understand and manage my health (my disease) therefore feeling like I could optimise my health. While never worrying that if was unsure of something or that it things changed I could contact the team and get the answers I needed. A fantastic hospital, great team, continuity of care and understanding of managing the person with the long term conditions in a way that a lot of other hospitals could learn from rather that just treating the disease.

Bath Centre for Pain Services

Royal National Hospital For Rheumatic Diseases, Upper Borough Walls, Bath BA1 1RL, UK – 01225 473427

This is where my life changed for the best. Met great Drs but for the month I stayed here I learnt how to live with my pain, More important though we're the other people on the course with me, going through the same things in life. I met the most fantastic people that soon became very close friends. Jane, Aileen, Irene, Joy, Tracey, Barry and Kevin. Love and miss them all xxxx

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.
