Local Food and Drink

Sunshine Health Shop

25 Church St, Stroud GL5 1JL, UK – 01453 763923

Excellent, knowledgable advice, these guys always go the extra mile to find you the right product. I've been in a few times asking for advice on different supplements. They have always tried to find the answers. They have knowledgable staff and will even cross ref with each other when they don't know the answer. There is a food store and a supplements and medicinal grade branch on the high street. The offering of different naturopathic medicine grade quality is astounding. I've been to many health food suppliers in UK and the offering at Sunshine is the best I've ever seen. A Gem!

What a treat! So much variety and options! Great for gluten free as well - pasta, gnocchi and flours; millet, buckwheat and chestnut. Cereals and mueslis, biscuits and crackers. This list is not even all inclusive!

The Co-operative Food

16 Cashes Green Rd, Stroud GL5 4JG, UK – 01453 751585

This co-op is better than the one in Stonehouse, much more stuff and generally nicer staff.

Good parking and the store has a post office too. Usual selection of co op goods and groceries but the junctions leading to it can be busy especially at school times. Useful place to stop and shop though.

Midcounties Co-operative Food

16 Slad Rd, Stroud GL5 1QW, UK – 01453 757967

Small and friendly staff. Quite a bit to choose from. They have the usual bread, milk cakes, coffee, confectionery and freshly baked goods

I like the coop lets hope they are not also destroyed by EU legislation ready for another devalued foreign takeover for pennies in the pound ! ! !

BigBarn has a totally brilliant map for Gloucestershire showing all the local food producers. So if you want to know where your food comes from look no further!
The Kent & Sussex Tea and Coffee Company was established 26 years ago when the Smith family returned from India, where for two generations we had been involved with tea. The website contains information about all the different teas and coffees supplied together with regular updates on new additions to the range.
