Cafe Rouge

15 Milsom St, Bath BA1 1DE, UK – 01225 462368

Pleasant evening. Good food. Not overly expensive. Anyone who feels their food should have been hotter or quicker or nicer really should take a step back and ask themselves is this bad enough to complain about, if it is then say to the waiter that you have a complaint. This is how BAD outlets get better. Simple.

Only came for a coffee and cake, both were quite nice. The atmosphere is lovely. The waiter misunderstood my girlfriend and ended up bringing the wrong drink, but they corrected it and brought her what she'd asked for with no problems.

Brasserie Blanc

6-12 Queen Square, Bath BA1 2HH, UK – 01225 303860

Although we could not fault the meal, the service was disjointed. We had to ask for both wine and water for the table (having been served with a drink when we sat down), when our wine glasses were initially taken away. The restaurant was not busy at all that evening, so no excuses. Also our reservation was prior booked by our daughter. When we arrived our arrival was obviously not registered through the system as she received an email saying the booking had been cancelled - this is clearly not good enough as she was left wondering what had happened to us!

Second visit here, and really lovely. Fixed price menu excellent value. Wine pricey but faultless!

Pizza Express

1 Barton St, Bath BA1 1HG, UK – 01225 420119

Popped in for a quick lunch. Excellent pizza choices. Good, clean friendly service. The fresh rocket, and the chilli dressing is a must.

Good food and service. Cold draft near the window.

Chinese Restaurants serving the Bath area

Peking Chinese

1-2 New St, Bath BA1 2AF, UK – 01225 466377

A fantastic long established family run restaurant in the centre of Bath. Look out for the multi lingual Albert ... and make sure you try the Crispy Duck and Champagne finger bowls!

Absolutely fabulous. Fantastic food and portions and impeccable service.

Hon Fusion Chinese Restaurant

25 Widcombe Parade, Bath BA2 4LD, UK – 01225 446020

Fantastic restaurant located very close to the city centre. Food was of excellent quality and very delicious. Staffs were very friendly and the price's very reasonable too!! Lovely meal overall and will definitely come back again. Recommended if you are looking for a great Chinese restaurant in Bath.

Ordered a delivery: pork and mixed veg & Szechuan Chicken. The portions were good. Food was fresh and piping hot. Although the chicken was a little too tenderised... All really tasty though. I'll definitely revisit.

Hong Kong Bistro

33 Southgate St, Bath BA1 1TP, UK – 01225 318500

Amazing food and service even knowing was only one waiter to serve us , plus the portion really big , more than enough ! Definitely recommend , no doubt !

Not the best or friendliest staff but the food was good for a nice price and they were open late!

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Bath

Indian Temptation

9-10 High St, Bath BA1 5AQ, UK – 01225 464631

My partner and I are vegan, when we called to make a reservation they called us shortly after to confirm to us that it was a vegetarian restaurant which would have been really helpful if were unsuspecting meat eaters. The restaurant has a beautiful interior and outside view. The staff were friendly and never leaving us too long to order or have a drink top up. The food was delicious (vegan menu) and at a reasonable price. Would definitely visit again next time we are in Bath.

One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in the UK - and I have been to a lot! Delicious food with authentic flavours, not too heavy, really friendly people and good value - I was excited to discover Indian Temptation and have been just as excited to keep returning ever since!

The Eastern Eye

8A Quiet St, Bath BA1 2JS, UK – 01225 422323

They served us long after everyone else had closed with no complaints and stayed open until we had left. Excellent food, fantastic venue, superb service and well priced. Would thoroughly recommend.

It seems Nicolas Cage likes it and comes here quite often. I would not even call the curries here as typical Indian curries , may be Bangladeshi , very anglicised Indian food. I don't even know if to call this place a Indian restaurant.

The Mint Room

Longmead Gospel Hall, Lower Bristol Rd, Bath BA2 3EB, UK – 01225 446656

The holiday inn had no restaurant so was looking for somewhere to eat, the reception recommended the mint room, so glad they did the food was amazing. Staff were friendly and attentive. Wife liked the look of the food so getting a take away tonight for her!!!

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food. However the waiter didn't take my very mild allergy particularly seriously (I ordered a food low in the allergen and told the waitress, but she told me not to worry, instead of informing the kitchen staff)

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Nonna's Italian Restaurant

39 Gay St, Bath BA1 2NT, UK – 01225 427919

Went a few years ago but still remember it well. Good authentic Italian wine and food, with a good atmosphere. Good for a quiet evening meal.right in the centre. Just returned & is still good for a quiet meal( although it was a Monday). The antipasti of meat was really good and the Italian wine was ok. Pasta however was not that great. Good location as just out of the 'busy' area.

The sharing platter was lovely. Main courses less good. Seafood pasta was abit too creamy. Chicken in wine sauce was average. Pizzas were fine but nothing special. The ladies toilet is next to outside entrance and is freezing.

The Real Italian Pizza Co

16 York St, Bath BA1 1NG, UK – 01225 330121

Amazing food. We could not resist it and came 2 nights in a row. A lovely choice of affordable yet lovely wine

One of the best pizza's I've ever had. We are regulars. Location is tucked away in a side street so it's not overly busy which is nice. Nice seating area outside and inside. Open kitchen with chefs is slightly distracting especially when they stare at you whilst you eat.

Jamie’s Italian

10 Milsom St, Bath BA1 1BZ, UK – 01225 432340

Really nice lunch - Julietta pizza was a particular highlight. Lovely terrace so will be coming back to try that in the summer.

I had the pasta, the sauce was good, but whilst I like Al dente pasta the penne was a little underdone. My waitress was courteous however the service was slow. The maitre de was quite unaccommodating, the ladies next to me asked for some bread and the maitre de asked them to ask their waitress.

Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen

2 North Parade Passage, Bath BA1 1NX, UK – 01225 446059

Delicious Inventive Food. Such a cute little restaurant in a great central location. The food was amazing!! Every course was delicious and beautifully presented, we also decided to treat ourselves to the wine pairing and it was well worth the extra. All in all one of the best restraunts I have been to for ages, I would recommend it to anyone. 🌟🌟🌟

A real treat for anyone who enjoys high quality vegetarian food. The quality of the food and the care taken to prepare it and make it fantastic to eat is amazing. A real treat.

The Green Rocket

1 Pierrepont St, Bath BA1 1NY, UK – 01225 420084

I had an extremely pleasant experience when dining here last month. I was looking for a vegetarian/vegan restaurant and came across here. Despite being really busy, the staff courteously offered me to wait in the waiting area. I decided to go outside as I wanted to see the sights nearby. As soon as a table was free, one of the staff members specially came outside to call me in, which was great. The food was excellent. I got a vegan sandwich and an Icelandic white beer, both of which were really good. Food is moderately priced. If you are in Bath, I would highly recommend making a visit to this restaurant.

We had a great dinner here for very a reasonable price. Much higher quality food and lovely atmosphere beyond what the "cafe" vibe of website suggested. Would thoroughly recommend.

Wine Bars and Cocktail Bars

Vino Vino Wine & Cocktail Bar

5-6 Saw Cl, Bath BA1 1EN, UK – 01225 312341

Decent small cocktail bar. Great bar man. Great drinks. Not the best seating.

Came here in December and sat outside. Fantastic service, great food and very helpful staff, nothing wasn't to much trouble. Fabulous champagne and a good price. Wished I wrote down the name of the champagne we drank.

All Bar One

11/12 High St, Bath BA1 5AQ, UK – 01225 334614

Been here many times over the years. Always busy. Last year had tapas on the Monday, saw the ad for Tapas Tuesdays& went back the next evening👍😀 good atmosphere. Food always been good & staff very helpful considering it's. busy City centre establishment. Popped in for a glass of wine the other evening, had a relaxing hour. Good atmosphere. Got the drinks myself, as always easier here with the limited staffing. Very pleased tapas Tuesday is still on. Perfect end to the day & really nice with the Christmas market outside.Considering how busy had very fast service of food, and excellent member of staff. Shame I don't live nearby. Definitely one of the best in the group.

Great staff and good drinks. They serve Brew Dog which is always a good sign. Very centrally located. Didn't have any food but it looked decent.

The Canary Gin Bar

3 Queen St, Bath BA1 1HE, UK – 01225 462457

Second year in Bath, second time at the gin bar. It was our first stop and by no mistake. It's all about the vibe, my better half tells me. Well, even a half full bar had the right vibe. Speakeasy with a fantastic selection of gin. Over 200, if you are counting. London prices for cocktails, but well worth it.

Brilliant gin bar. Great range of gins and interesting cocktails. Staff are friendly and helpful and will give advice if necessary. Highly recommended if you are in Bath.
