Local libraries may offer more than you expect. As well as books and magazines, libraries lend music, DVDs and computer games. Some have coffee shops and all offer free internet access. We need to use them or we will lose them.

Bath Central Library

1, The Podium, 19-23 Northgate St, Bath BA1 5AN, UK – 01225 394041

One of the best locations for a library: Central, near shops, tea-rooms etc. Easy access with a lift that arrives right outside, lovely views from large windows. My Mum used the reference section to write her book which after publication is now IN the library. HOWEVER BANES are now planning to close and re-locate it:( SAVE BATH LIBRARY !!!

Great library and staff. I would give a higher rating but most of the staff do need to be a little more aware of the fact that they work in a library - it is possible to talk to customers quietly and still be heard!

Moorland Road Library

Moorland Rd, Oldfield Park, Bath BA2 3PL, UK – 01225 394041

A small library, but nonetheless worthy for its location and service, both which are greatly appreciated. Always a welcome sight to see it open.

Opening hours: Tuesday 09:30 - 12:30 & 13:30 - 19:00, Thursday 09:30 - 13:00, Friday & Saturday 09:30 - 12:30 & 13:30 - 17:00

University of Bath Library

Claverton Down, Bath BA2 7AY, UK – 01225 385000

A library at the University of Bath! What more could you want? Well... maybe a Cornish pasty though the Students' Union nearby does some swell ones and there's a beautiful lake nearby perfect for drowning things, so convenient, 5 stars, would recommend.

24 hours library for University of Bath. Great views of the pond from all the floors. Will need student ID card to access.
