Cinemas around Bath

Odeon Cinema Bath

Kingsmead Complex, James St W, Bath BA1 2BX, UK – 0333 006 7777

It's anonymous, expensive and just like every other Odeon. At more than £10 a ticket these days it needs to add more. Most often nearly empty and with no exciting atmosphere you buy your ticket either at the machine or the popcorn counter while walking past the over priced confection (smuggling contraband from Sainsbury's local) you're directed to one of the ten or so screens. The seats are good and have good leg room. I can't imagine my kids looking back and fondly remembering the Odeon in the same way as the Little Theatre Bath or the Frome cinemas where the place itself has a bit of personality.

I enjoyed the movie I saw here, the staff were friendly. The tickets were fairly expensive but fine for a night out. The food however, is very expensive and I recommend getting some elsewhere.

The Little Theatre

St Michaels Place, Bath BA1 1SG, UK – 0871 902 5735

Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere plus you can have a cheeky beer or wine with your viewing. Way better value and experience than the Odeon.

Very nice place, has a lot more style than the Odeon and the popcorn is delicious!

Komedia Bath

22-23 Westgate St, Bath BA1 1EP, UK – 0845 293 8480

The events at Komedia are some of the best I've experienced in Bath's nightlife, ranging from drum and bass to 'Itchy Feet' 80's music, and is one of the only above-level clubs in Bath. It always has an amazing atmosphere and has revitalizing music non-stop. Essentially, I'm giving 5 stars because one night I lost my shoes at Komedia, and even though I came a month later to pick them up and they couldn't find them at the time, the staff wondrously sent my shoes to France at their own cost, and today I am happily wearing them again. Thank you so much for your great hospitality, exciting nights and my shoes back!

amazing time when i went to see Russell Kane; great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great venue. seats were very comfy and the layout was good - I could see everything from right at the back. the queue for the toilets was long and slow but it didn't detract from the wonderful evening.

Theatre Royal

Saw Cl, Bath BA1 1ET, UK – 01225 448844

Love this theatre. It puts on excellent shows. Recently saw Fracked - so funny and a star studded cast.

Lovely venue close to loads of eating establishments. They have local groups performing as well as national toirs. Good value tickets available if you don't want the best seats in the house.
