Dental Surgeries

Edgar Buildings Dental & Implant Clinic

7 2EE, Edgar Buildings, George St, Bath BA1 2DU, UK – 01225 466086

I had a single implant fitted by Philip Pettemerides. The whole process carried out over a number of months, was conducted in a professional and sympathetic manner using quality products. I can highly recommend Philip and his team for work of a similar nature. A very friendly atmosphere with passionate staff.

Have recently received root canal treatment and am very impressed by the quality of the treatment - absolutely first rate. Would definitely recommend this practice.

Aquae Sulis Dental

Station Court, Ashley Ave, Bath BA1 3DS, UK – 01225 339767

I have never written a review for any service I have received or purchase made – ever!! Having been to Aquae Sulis for over 12 months of extremely intensive/extensive treatment I feel compelled to share my experience. I am a mature lady who, over the years has experienced some horrendous and detrimental dental treatment, all of which I endured for the sake of vanity!! I was becoming increasingly concerned about the condition and appearance of my teeth and my dentist, at the time, recommended a full set of implants as the solution. I was horrified. A dear friend recommended Dr Ian Bellamy at Aquae Sulis in Bath. I live in South Devon so had obvious reservations about the time and distance involved. I had a lengthy telephone consultation with Ian and my fears were allayed. I am one appointment away from completion of my treatment. There are only two back teeth that Ian was unable to salvage and replaced with implants. The rest of my teeth and gums are healthy, look absolutely brilliant and I couldn’t be more delighted. Ian and his team are totally professional, experienced, friendly and caring. Having spent years of feeling physically sick prior to a dental appointment I can honestly say (and I do know this sounds a bit mental!!) I actually look forward to the 250 mile round trip to see them all. 5 stars and couldn’t be more highly recommend by me. What price a SMILE?

Luke came to my aid when I urgently needed root canal treatment a few days before my holiday. The treatment was painless , Luke was very caring and gentle, just what you need in a stressed situation. I would certainly recommend him to anyone.

Widcombe Dental Practice

4 Sussex Pl, Bath BA2 4LA, UK – 01225 317681

I had been considering having Botox for sometime as I knew it would help with softening crows feet around my eye area. I like to look natural and was concerned that people would notice that I had the procedure done. Taking the plunge and not looking back, everyone keeps telling me how well I look but nobody has mentioned the B word, a few people have also taken the plunge after being impressed with my new younger, relaxed look. Paul is a true professional he takes photos and discusses in detail how you would like to look and always likes to see you two weeks later to make sure you are happy with your results.

I have been a patient at Widcombe Dental Practice for a couple of years now and whilst I have always been impressed with Paul's calm, professional and reassuring manner on this occasion I needed root canal treatment! I developed rampant toothache whilst away on business and made an appointment for my return. At the appointment diagnosis was quickly made, Paul explained the entire process to save the tooth, he removed the offending nerve, cleaned and treated the tooth and applied a temporary filling. My toothache immediately gone and an appointment made for a follow up visit. I mentioned my treatment to a couple of friends who (as helpful friends are) warned me the procedure was far from over and that they wouldn't want to be in my shoes recalling their personal horror stories! Well, at the follow up appointment I hid my apprehension somewhat as Paul again reassuringly explained what needed to be done, how and what the inside of the tooth would be filled with etc. I need not of worried. The entire procedure was undertaken with care, consideration and total professionalism, Paul working efficiently with his dental nurse, ensuring I was kept comfortable throughout and using what I am sure is an array of the latest dentistry equipment and techniques. The procedure was over with the minimum of personal discomfort, a final x-ray taken and Paul showing me the before and after images and success of the root canal treatment. I am writing this only an hour after treatment and have already joked with one of my 'helpful friends' that he too should make his way to Widcombe Dental Practice if he wants to enjoy the benefit of the best dental treatment and care in Bath. I am overjoyed with the result. Thank you Paul and the team!

Dentists

mydentist, Walwyn Close, Twerton

Walwyn Cl, Twerton, Bath BA2 1ER, UK – 01225 339882

The best dentist I have ever been to,you feel comfortable as soon as you go in,which is a big plus if you are as nervous as myself. Very pleasant staff and Michael the dentist that has done all my treatment is so thorough and gentle, I am at total ease. Amazing practice.

Have visited this dentist several times, most recently today for an emergency appointment. They are absolutely fantastic - the receptionist, dentist, dentist's assistant... all made me feel so at ease despite my nerves and provided me with the best treatment possible. Highly recommended!

Bath Spa Dentistry

19 James St W, Bath BA1 2BT, UK – 01225 464346

I've been to a few very good dentists over the years but Dermot McNulty is excellent. He did a fantastic job restoring a very badly broken tooth which had a cavity almost down to the nerve and I felt no pain. Very friendly staff as well.

This is a wonderful dental practice in central Bath. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I am very happy with my extensive dental work done so expertly by Sandra – she is a perfectionist and I can now smile with pride. Sandra is also a very calming influence if you are a bit nervous of going to the dentist! I am so happy with the results and would highly recommend the practice for any dental procedures. Thank you Sandra!

Excellent surgery. Always found the receptionists kind, polite and helpful especially given how busy they must be. Never had a problem getting an appointment when one of the family has needed one.

Been with this surgery for 18 years and only had good experiences. One former receptionist was quite abrupt, but otherwise all good.

Monmouth Surgery

8 Monmouth Pl, Bath BA1 2AU, UK – 01225 334618

The Pulteney Practice

35 Great Pulteney St, Bath BA2 4BY, UK – 01225 464187

First to implement new system of getting a doctor's appointment. To begin this process one must tell the receptionist why you want to see a doctor. If you can satisfy the receptionist that you really do need to see a doctor a doctor will ring you back within an hour and give you an appointment. Not very popular.

This practise is an oasis of brilliance. So many good doctors, incredibly proficient, and Dr Gardener Thorpe deserves a special mention!

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Bathampton

Woods Restaurant

9-13 Alfred St, Bath BA1 2QX, UK – 01225 314812

Excellent food, good selection in comfortable surroundings. Centrally located with very good service. Great wine list.

I had the battered fish and chips, good portions, well presented, piping hot, slitly too salty for my taste, still I recommend the restaurant.

CAU Steak Restaurant

1-2 Milsom St, Bath BA1 1BZ, UK – 01225 316158

I've been coming here for quite a while now. I also send my clients here when they ask me for recommendations and I'm yet to have a customer come back to me who didn't love it as much as I do. Steaks cooked to perfection every time, delicious sauces and sides and waiting staff are naturally great hosts. Brought my family here for my 21st and they catered very well to a range of needs and made the day extra special. I was also informed the burgers are made from cuts of left over steak and I must admit they were brilliant burgers. Cocktails are awesome and we have taken wine recommendations from staff each time and they have yet to fail us for a good pairing! Never a bad experience here and we will be coming back for a long time. Thank you to the CAU team! Our waiter (Anthony) was excellent!

Absolutely the best steak I've ever had. Beats Hudson's hands down in my opinion. Thick juicy steak with a salty crust. YUM! The cocktails and the service are amazing too. Still buzzing about it a week later! Just go!

Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill Restaurant

24 Milsom St, Bath BA1 1DG, UK – 01225 750120

Absolutely amazing sea food. We had the oysters, mixed seafood grill and the salmon fillet. All cooked to perfection. Drinks were great. Couldn’t talk this place up more if we tried. Pricey but you get what you pay for :)

As part of a chain, it's neither the best nor the worst Loch Fyne in the country. My fish was cooked perfectly but it was the only thing that was out of 9 meals so not a great return. Service was ok but the menu we were given was dirty and stained to the point of probably needing to be thrown out.
